Do you want to change the future for the better?

At Leaf, we want to help you do that.

“Building a Better Future” is a free, eight-day, residential programme to allow bright and curious sixth formers to explore ideas, methodologies, and opportunities for helping others and building a better world.

The programme is about exploration of ambitious aims like preventing human extinction or steering the course of history towards a more positive future. This requires a degree of openness and intellectual curiosity, and we strongly encourage participants to both consider and critique the new ideas that they encounter during the programme.

In addition to exploring how to make a real difference to pressing global issues, ranging from climate change to pandemic prevention to risks from artificial intelligence, you will:

  • Experience a university-style learning environment in a beautiful Oxford college,

  • Connect with a community of like-minded individuals, including staff focused on long-term risks at research institutes within Oxford University and a number of other social impact-focused organisations,

  • Discuss university and career options relevant to making a difference, including with our team which includes teachers, students, researchers, and a former Oxford University admissions officer.

Dates: TBC: UK summer holiday, 2023

Location: TBC: Lady Margaret Hall, University of Oxford or another Oxford college
